Celebrating its 30th year of providing epic sporting event on the Gold Coast, this year’s Coolangatta gold will once again gather the toughest ironmen and ironwomen to battle it out on the 42 kilometre course challenge.
To be held on 1 to 2 November between the Coolangatta Beach and Broadbeach, the Coolangatta Gold will have all participants take on one of the most physically challenging endurance races of its kind in the world. Featuring the most elite ironmen and ironwomen of Australia and other parts of the globe, this endurance classic is not for the fainthearted and requires the most demanding physical preparations for all participants to completely gear up themselves for the long and tough race.
Not only for the brawny blokes and tough women, the Coolangatta Gold now welcomes everyone, adult and kids and the whole family with an extended program of events. Adding more excitement, there will also be the Great Gold Coast Swim, a 5km Beach Fun Run, a Family Fun Day aside from the Endurance Race. This sports fest is truly a weekend of fun in the sun not for everyone to experience and enjoy.
Following the phenomenal success of the Coolangatta Gold last year, which became a historic event after having the first female long course race as well as the biggest prize money of $25,000 for the open male and female winners, this year is expected to attract a larger number of competitors and a more successful turnout of events.
